Today the big news came out today that HoN would be releasing its final major patch essentially making a point that the game will be coming to an 'end' in the near future. My life basically revolved around Heroes of Newerth from 2009 until 2016 which included a 5 year period I was a full time staff at S2 Games / Frostburn Studios before leaving on my own terms to pursue freelance casting in esports which is why I am involved heavily in Dota 2 today. This news, all though I am not surprised with it as I expected it soon, it still is almost surreal to hear thinking back how much of my life was about HoN for so long.Because of the clear interest on this subreddit of such news and another AMA from a former dev that seemed to do pretty well, I figured why not do one myself.I am watching my almost 1 yr old daughter so sorry if I am slow to some responses!EDIT: Thanks for all the questions and comments, I had a lot of fun. Keep them coming, I will look to answer another batch tomorrow!.

Championship Manager 17 is an excellent soccer manager game that not only has a detailed gameplay, but also includes the real names of teams and players. This means you can use real teams, participate in real competitions, and obviously play with real talent. Championship manager 2011.

This is a pretty tough question off the top of my head as I have casted so many of course. One that comes to mind more for reasons of silliness was the first DreamHack (back in 2010?) which KDe defeated another team 4v5 to make it to the finals I believe it was.DreamHack Winter 2013 I want to say, where I casted with Tralf was probably one of the best events as a whole I remember casting. As for how much I was paid, when I first was hired on I was making $32,000 I believe it was? Considering it required living in a smaller size city of Kalamazoo which wasn't that expensive, and benefits were on the better end I was happy with it. Looking back I realize now I was under paid considering my name and popularity and the positives I did for the HoN scene, but oh well! Also on the money side, one of my few regrets working on HoN was not making a deal to get extra compensation for my announcer pack in game. I just did it as part of my job rather then thinking of them using my likeness, but I was just super excited to do it at the time because it was cool!. My favorite set of matches you casted was at a Dreamhack when Fnatic (I think they were already Fnatic back then) had to play 4v5 because H4nn1 was delayed getting to the event.

They started out with their coach as a stand-in but opted to play 4v5. Contra hard corps cheats. That was such a Cinderella story. I remember them picking Valkyrie and split pushing all game when it wasn't meta.Another really good one was when a guy which name escapes me ran into the Kongor pit 1v5 as Corrupted Disciple and slayed them all. That might have been a Tralf solo cast tho, so you might not remember this.Anyway I am glad you made your way into Dota 2.

I always liked your casting and your hard work staying on-top of everything. Keep it up.

A mix of the scene wasn't as big as it is especially now days in Dota 2. And also HoN did a great job in comparison at fostering its amateur and upcoming scene.HoN Tour was to thank for this, all though it had many tech issues in the beginning the idea of it and as it played out even was amazing for all levels of players. It literally paid money to teams in the bronze division, which is equivalent to what archon or even less level players would be in Dota 2. That on top of it being a weekly thing was huge. Hey Breaky,First, for those who don't know. When breaky was first coming up in the HoN scene as a caster he thanked every viewer by name at the end of his cast. It is crazy thinking back the evolution and the years at S2 Games, when I first moved out to begin working in summer of 2011 I think it employed 20 people in office?

By 2014 we moved in a massive building and had over 100 employees working full time and the environment was great. Being able to just hang out with people who for the most part of passionate about games and talking with them every day while working on a game you love was an epic experience. When the split happened however of Garena purchasing HoN and then creating Frostburn studios is when things started to go south in terms of the atmosphere. Not that it was bad and frankly made a lot of sense from a business perspective, but employee count started to go down and the morale changed a bit.As for Maliken, yes he was intense at times but I will always say that I appreciate him for taking the chance on me when he didn't have to. He did for me and so many others, and perhaps this wasn't for the best reasons at times, but I can't blame him either.
